Bar Carts!

There’s nothing that says “holiday” like a well-stocked bar. But let’s get real—most of us don’t have one set up in our home. Good news: you can turn any buffet or console into a party cocktail station. Prefer something that moves with the scene? A bar cart does the trick (and adds ambiance). Whatever you choose, here are five tips to help you set up and style your own bar anywhere in your home.

Step 1: Get The Party Started
First off, figure out the scene. Console tables bring the party right up front and center. Pretty buffets focus the festivities near the food. And, bar carts move wherever the party moves. Choose one that reflects your personal style!

Step 2: Break Out The Glasses
Most important bar essential? Glassware. Who cares if you make a beautiful cocktail if you don’t have a super glam glass to show it off, right? Get dressy with geometric or ultra sleek shapes.

Step 3: Grab The Right Tools
There are tons of bar accessories out there for the serious mixologist, but to make a cocktail you only need a few key pieces. Start with the essentials: a bottle opener and corkscrew. Then, add the fun cocktail-making parts: a shaker, ice bucket, muddler, and double-sided jigger (for good measure).

Step 4: Add Personality
Get creative! Add a bouquet in your favorite vase. Or a glam (yet useful) cocktail recipe book. Wine lover? Add a decanter. Once your bar cart looks all decked out, guests will feel free to help themselves to a drink, which is kind of the whole point, right?

Step 5: Master a Signature Drink
No fancy bar skills required: this champagne cocktail is so simple yet so impressive your guests will wonder if you’re moonlighting as a martini slinger.
